As for the National Soccer League, we begin the pursuit for the Division title once again. If there is anyone who feels that we do not have a chance at owning our division, feel free to give me a phone call or stop by and say hi to tell me that you are not interested in playing with us the remainder of the season. I strongly believe that we are not only going to win the remainder of our games in the regular season, but we will also be victorious in the playoffs as well. That is what you would call "Winning the Double" and that is what we are going to do. Any questions? The quest for the double begins this Sunday, August 1st at 5 PM against Barcelona FC.

Due to the fact that we did not have a referee show up yesterday evening, we postponed the game against DuPage United to a later date. This date will be announced as soon as it arranged but is likely going to be at the end of July. I will note that we have 6 injured players, had more at the Cubs game, 1 at a family party, few more at the nudey bar (?), 1 on a date because he is in love, and a few others that are AWOL. For those that are AWOL, please let me know what your story is so we can look to add players if you no longer have an interest in coming out to play with us.

We are onto our Summer Break as we have, at minimum, the next 4 weeks off. During this time, it will be imparative that we get together on a regular basis so we can stay fresh and play cohesively. Whether it be practice once a week or getting everyone out to Frankfort to play once or twice a week, we must use this break to prepare for the 2nd half of the season. We are in good standing and control our fate in regards to getting promoted to the 1st Division.

Last Sunday's game resulted in a 1 - 1 draw against an inferior 1st place team of HNNK Hrvat. We seemed to shore up some of our defense woes of late with only a few breakdowns but offensively we struggled. Discussing this result with many of the Lemont FC longtime players, it was concluded that we shake up the line up. This will be discussed further at Tuesday's game in Frankfort.

Our next game is scheduled for Sunday, June 6th at 3 PM at Montrose and Cumberland against Lake Shore SC. For those of you who need directions take I 294 north to I 90 east (Chicago). Take I 90 east to Cumberland south exit. Take Cumberland south until you get to Montrose. Take a left onto Montrose and the field will be on your right side almost immediately after your turn.

We were beat by an inferior team last Sunday by a score of 4 - 1. We played bad and there was no one worth mentioning as player of the match.

May 13, 2004 11:31 PM
Well, Sunday was a win and that is all that counts. Our 4 - 3 victory will show in the standings as a win so I will only touch on the performances of the game's key players in reflecting our win. Mike Majchrowicz led the way with 1 goal and 2 assists as Player of the Match. Mike sent cross after cross as he attacked the end line repeatedly with a great deal of success. Other key contributors were Dave Hoeper (1 goal), Mike Newman (1 goal), Mark Jennings (1 goal), Benjamin Vega (1 assist), Al Carrillo (1 assist), and Kamal Sekhri who helped control the game from the Center Mid position.

This week's win keeps us in 2nd place in our section of the National Soccer League's 2nd Division and third highest point total throughout the 2nd Division. This coming Sunday's game is at 5 PM at Bambrick Park in Lemont against SS Turquoise.

Frankfort

July 10, 2004 12:34 PM
To keep it brief, Lemont FC is consolidating its efforts for the remainder of the Frankfort outdoor session. We will play the remainder of the Lemont FC 2 team which plays this week on Thursday at 6:45 PM. We are doing this because we have had such a poor turnout the past few weeks and those that have made the games are tired of playing 3 and 4 players shy. If you cannot make the games, please communicate that you are not going to make it. Those that have made it out the past few weeks continually have been let down by everyone else and it is certainly not fair to them. In short, come out, pay the money you owe, support your teammates as you have made a commitment to them, and play some soccer.

June 21, 2004 10:55 PM
Speaking of AWOL, where the hell is everyone. I had 28 people tell me that they wanted to come out and play with us out in Frankfort. Since then, we have had 23 different people come out for games, with several only making it out once. If you tell me that you are going to play and do not have some sort of time conflict such as work, sleep schedule issue, school issue, then get back out to Frankfort this week.

We are playing one another this Tuesday, June 22nd at 6:45 PM. If you cannot make it, please advise.

By the way, most people still owe me $55 for the league as only Mike Majchrowicz, Dave Hoeper, Brian Baud, and I have paid up so far. Last week we had 2 games, 1 of which we had only 7 players against a full squad. Result of that game was Lemont FC 3, Collision Revision 0. The Lemont FC team #1 is currently 2 - 1, while the Lemont FC team # 2 is 3 - 0.

May 31, 2004 10:45 PM
The cost per player is $55 and I would like to pay off the league as soon as possible.
Lemont FC #1 plays on Thursday at 6:45PM.
Lemont FC #2 will be playing on Tuesday at 6:45 PM. Those playing will be:

  • Kamal Sekhri
  • Sunil Sekhri - out of town for work
  • Brian Baud
  • Mike Frantz - Dental appointment
  • Jake Soltes
  • Mike Loulousis
  • Scott Kreydich
  • Alex Kreydich
  • Dave Van Howe
  • Mike Majchrowicz
  • Jonathan O'Sullivan
  • Jason Luebs
  • Dave Hoeper
  • Benjamin Vega
  • Al Carrillo

May 24, 2004 6:24 PM
We begin play in Frankfort on Thursday, May 27th at 6:45 PM. We have 2 teams in the league which will allow us to take on new players as well as allow everyone to get a great deal of playing time.

May 19, 2004 6:27 PM
Frankfort outdoor starts next week on either the 26th or 27th. I was told yesterday afternoon that we will have a game time and date for next week by tomorrow. I will keep everyone posted.
